Hi,
So the boat was launched last Friday after a month of work on it on City Island and about 10 years of trying to do something like this. Bill from Deviation helped me sail it over to Huguenot Yacht Club in New Rochelle where it will be kept. Saturday, Fred and I took it out and put all the sails up and we had a pretty good time. (Not crossing-the-Atlantic good time but entirely more sane.) There are a few things on the boat that need to be done and/or figured out before we hit the races, but I’ve been taking them one by one and will welcome your help in figuring out what’s left. And there is always something left. Besides that, this weekend will be about getting to know how to sail the thing. I’m afraid it will be less like a lazy sail and more like practice – at least for part of it but yes, we will drink beer also and eat sandwiches and get some sun and air. The weather is supposed to be pretty nice and though not too windy it looks like there may be enough to at least keep moving.
On for Saturday is Fred, Alan, and Devin. For Sunday Ben, Haley, and Fred.
